Newt, a 17 year old, dedicated surfer once got bit by a shark. When they announced his chances were low and the attack was probably fatal everyone who knew him, got scared of the California coast. But when Newt survived, he was the only one who wasn't scared. Well he was still quite terrified but he wanted to keep going, even though the constant reminder of the healed shark bite on his left leg, didn't help. When Teresa saved Newt and he was all better, he introduced her bestfriend to him named, Thomas. And they never knew they would get so close to each other.

Newt should have known she would do it. He'd placed faith in Teresa, and knowing that Thomas loved her didn't make it easy. But he stayed beside his friend the entire time. Nothing has shaken that. But then he catches the Flare. Suddenly he feels himself falling, feels himself spinning out of this life. He knows he won't make it. I'm not sure how this will turn out, seeing as I am a horrible writer, but I have an indescribable passion for the maze runner that no one knows about.
