Can Team X-Ray secure the much-needed Coal for Katheer or will they be seduced by the Cult's Lustrous Siren Song?

I went back and reread the original story that I put up in Feb. towards the very end it was apparent that I had half-assed the end, and cheated everyone out of the ending that they deserved. I went back, setting out to give a better ending, and ended up adding a whole new section of the story. Hopefully this one has a better ending. I left the original up for any of you wanting to compare it to this. Let me know by leaving your thoughts in the comments. Or don't. You have free will. By all means, use it.

The story follows a courier named Alice, who got wrapped up in a war she knew nothing about and somehow became leader of the strip. In the aftermath of the battle, she finds herself slowly remembering things about her past and who she was along with dealing with her evergrowing feelings for the co-ruler of the Vegas Strip.
