While cleaning out the attic on the first day of spring (because her mom Catherine put it on the calendar, which is the only way to get anything done), Josie finds a beautiful pink dress that belonged to her grandmother. It would have been the perfect thing to wear to the Spring Fling, an annual event that she and her moms always enjoyed with her Gramps. But there's no dance this year, since the whole world is shut down because of COVID-19, a pandemic virus. While Catherine is hard at work at the hospital, Anna and Josie come up with a plan to bring their family closer, despite the challenges of social distancing. When Rebecca wakes up in the hospital she discovers that she was in a terrible car accident and has been in a coma for nearly four years. Everything has changed in those four years. Her parents have divorced, her best friend died in the crash and all her friends have finished high school. How will she be able to adapt to her new life.

A guy was sitting on the beach, the waves lapping at his feet and the occasional breeze that swept his hair off his face and then back to his face again. Tiny drops of rain began to fall, starting with a drizzle and gradually increasing in intensity until you couldn't see anything within a two metre radius of yourself. Sebastian liked the rain. He liked the after smell of the rain, the sound that it made and they effect it had on the things around him. He loved how it blurred his vision until he couldn't tell whether it was the rain or his tears. The beach was a whole new thing when it rained. The soft sand that usually slipped through his fingers would now stick to his skin. The waves would crash with more vigour than usual. And there would be no one is sight. He didn't notice when someone else came and sat beside him. He almost didn't notice when a bottle of gin was pushed into his hand and he drank. He drank until the bottle was finished and the rain was finally slowing down. Or maybe it was just him. He rubbed at his eyes with the back of his hand and looked and the person sitting next to him. He only managed to get a quick look of his eyes before their lips crashed. His eyes were blue. As blue as the ocean when it rained. And hence he would always remember him as the guy at the beach. She feels gloomy, sad, depressed,d, and a lot like the character Scrooge from Charles Dickens' book 'The Christmas Carol'. Alaska or as her brother likes to call her Lassie, lives with her oldest brother Trent, who is her legal guardian, in a small town. Lassie likes to stop by a café every day called 'Winter Wonderland' which is only open for the Winter season. There she meets a charming guy named Wesley Johnson who can't understand why a person could hate his favorite holiday, Christmas.
