One shot - AU 18x18 found this on my laptop and though I would just post it since everyone is depressed because of the finale right now and some Mernick stories always cheer everyone up so enjoy!!!

May 2051, somewhere in Minnesota... When the person you love starts forgetting pieces of your life together there's really only one thing you can do: remembering strong enough for both of you. The title of this story comes from the title of Wildfire by Cautious Clay which is, as you may know, the song that played when Meredith and Nick met again in the beginning of season 18.

Mernick story - AU 19x20 Meredith has been working in Boston for a few weeks now and as Richard convinces Nick to go to Boston to check on Meredith he finds her in a very bad condition. The missing scene between Meredith's and Nick's discussion about the job offer in the lab, and her arriving back in Seattle with him and introducing him to the kids. Meredith goes to see Nick to apologize for thinking the worst, and to explain to him why she is having a complicated time when it comes to moving. The conversation I feel the show will never give, where Meredith actually talks about DC, and how her marriage had been falling apart, for a while before her late husband died, even if they had agreed to try again.

Thid story is based on episode 18x20 and focuses on Meredith, and how she deals with everything she had to go through in the season finale.
