Urodzona w wilczej rodzinie nie odziedziczyła szlachetnego genu. Wszystko w niej zdawało się być ludzkie, a jedyną zwierzęcą cechą były wyjątkowo złociste, nawet jak na wilka, oczy. Poza tym była niesamowicie niezdarna, a jej dwie lewe ręce dawały o sobie znać w najmniej pożądanych momentach. Wśród wilczej społeczności znana była jako fajtłapa, na której nie można polegać. Tą dziewczyną byłam ja. Miałam jednak sekret, o którym wiedzieli tylko najbliżsi. Dar, który po części rekompensował moją odmienność. Miał on jednak dużo większe znaczenie niż ktokolwiek mógłby przypuszczać...

Bree East is in 7th grade and 12 years old. In school, she has been picked from a jar (of 7-10th graders) to go pick a place 5 hours ('plane time') away from her home town, and live there for 2 years without bringing any of her friends and family. Her best friends (in Cali) are Mya, Matt, Stella, Nicholas, and Carlos. Bree and, maybe two friends, soon leaves from San Diego, California to... Now, Reno's on the run with the only person who knows what's happening but can't speak to him about it! But what happens when Reno starts feeling things he shouldn't for the silent beauty? Uh-Oh!
