Clancy is trying to forget all of the torture that he's gone through during his time spent in the prison known as Dema. But when Jenna comes into his world and requests to go to Dema, he must face his demons and help her rescue her family before it's too late!

tyler lives in a world where everyone is brainwashed by corrupt men in cloaks who call themselves "the bishops". tyler and his best friend mikey have always been apart of the few who were able to think for themselves. one day, two new citizens get transported into the city. mikey and tyler help the two escape being sold and giving them shelter. a rebellion is soon started to stop the bishops from their corrupt ways. with the help of a past rebel named clancy, the friends go on an adventure that could end their lives, all while a romance is blossoming. . . . . . Tyler has been in Dema for what feels like forever. He can barely what it feels like to want to leave, and why would he? It's comfortable, and there's no surprises, unlike the harsh terrain and unpredictable weather of Trench. But Josh is worried. He's worried that his friend is slowly drifting into compliance and that they'll never reach Slowtown. Hell, he's worried that he'll wake up one day, and Tyler won't. He needs to get Tyler out, while he still can. trigger warning for: suicide, suicide ideation, mental illness

Everyone lives in Dema now, with no memories of their past, they want to make you forget. The Niners deal with the ones who remembers. Fuelled on rumours of an escape, where does Tyler run too when he searches for his memories?

The first thing I remember is the moment when I realized everything was a lie. The moment when everything crushed in front of me. The moment when the world became black for me.

It's always been Dema. I don't remember there being a beginning of my life here, but I don't really think I came from here. It really doesn't matter, because I'm here now. It's actually rather nice here. "The fear and pain shall not be elements that stop us, but what feeds us to persevere." Clancy is a Scribe within the walled city of Dema, a silent, gray place where everything is performed with efficiency and repetition. While he is proud to represent his district amongst the Scribes and relay the history of Dema for future generations, he begins to feel that there is something missing within the city that can only be found outside the walls. Risking everything to escape the perimeters, Clancy realizes that the ravines of Trench can be a dangerous place, especially with the canyon's labyrinthine pathways and the Bishops at his heels. Lianna Higgins and her odd trio of outcasts have been scouting Trench for the better part of three years, hoping to one day liberate the people of Dema themselves, even if it means risking their lives. When Lianna stumbles upon an escapee from Dema fate brings them and Lianna's crew to the Banditos, who themselves are devoted to usurping the Bishops and bring the walls of the gray city down. Lianna doesn't enjoy the Banditos' company - as a matter of fact, she despises their company - but she doesn't have anywhere else to go and the life of a timid young Scribe now rests like a heavy weight on her shoulders. The trial ahead will be hard and neither Clancy nor Lianna are eager to weigh the odds - but joining the Banditos and severing ties with Dema may be the only way for them to survive.
