Thomas Helmore (7 May 1811-6 July 1890) was a choirmaster, writer and edited of hymns and carols.
Helmore's brother was Holloway Helmore, missionary with the London Missionary Society, who with his wife,Anne and two of their children, along with other members of the missionary party died under tragic circumstances in South Africa in 1860. The full story can be found in the book No Cross Marks The Spot by Stella Kilby.
After Thomas Helmore died, his younger brother Frederick wrote and published these memoirs, which have now become public domain since the copyrite expired. I have decided to copy and republish these memoirs.
