A confused Vulpix named Nova, who believes she is human, has just woken up in the middle of a forest next to a male Nidoran named Nightshade. A nervous Butterfree approaches them and asks for help. She explains that her baby is lost in a nearby mystery dungeon, which she cannot enter due to the presence of dangerous wild Pokémon. She hopes they can fight their way through and rescue her baby. Without consulting Nova, Nightshade volunteers both of them for the rescue mission. Together, they forge a bond that seems powerful, but a question lingers in the air. Nightshade asks Nova to join him and his team, suggesting that they could rescue Pokémon and go on missions together. However, something feels off to Nova. She keeps having strange dreams, and she is uncertain about what lies ahead.
