I inquired, quite hastily. "Them... I-I don't wanna go..." his voice a receptacle of masked emotions. His ocean blue eyes teary, "I don't wanna go James." "I won't let them take you, I promise," promising what in particular? Not a clue. Sweat trinkled down my forehead in beady intervals. I was supposed to protect him- protect us from whoever was coming. Whatever was coming. "Oh James..." he dragged, stepping back tentatively.
