Death isn't permanent. History repeats itself. Ancient Enemies return. Relationships fade. Old Rivalries surface and boil over. The five unwavering truths of Hallownest. The eternal kingdom. A modern Hollow Knight fic set in 2018, in an unknown city built atop Hallownest. I've humanized everyone because I know that writing bugs will be a pain in the ass and also bugs don't really work with the setting.

(This is more than likely just platonic, or whatever you call it. Also, this takes place not long before the fight with the Hollow Knight and the Embrace the Void/Delicate Flower endings and sometime after the endings, and you are about as tall as Hornet, maybe a little shorter or a little taller, depends on what you feel. Not entirely sure on if Grimmchild actually grow up during the whole thing.) You are a bug of hallownest and you and the knight {who I (and by I, I mean you) will just be calling 'Little Ghost' or a name I decided to give them, 'Silent Knight', and for The Hollow Knight/Pure Vessel 'Paladin') have known each other for a while, despite the Silent Knight never actually speaking to you, and you have somehow learned a lot from the small vessel just from them mindlessly staring at you. You have also spent time and talked with Hornet, who you have learned that she was the knight's sibling, mainly from the shells they had on their heads. After some time, Little Ghost shows up again and this time, with someone you didn't know.

After spending most of your life living in Hallownest, you were almost certain that there was nothing truly remarkable to come. Key word, almost. So you were a little more than surprised when you found yourself standing before a sinister circus, not to mention befriending the oddly alluring ring leader. Perhaps those lucid dreams aren't as awful as you thought... DISCLAIMER: I do not own Hollow Knight, nor do I own most of the characters (including Grimm). I also do not take ownership of the art cover, that belongs to Rose (I believe, I mean I found it on Pinterest).

Contains spoilers! Hollow Knight is owned by Team Cherry What if The Shade Lord was their own being and didn't have Ghost as their vessel? What if they had awoken much earlier and took the small knight under their wing to train them to save their sibling high above? What if The Radiance wasn't at fault? What if both Gods worked together to stop the true cause of the infection.
