An old witch finds out of the child, and the magical properties she will possess. She steals the child from her home, keeping her shielded from the world, locked in a tower. She has not seen her husband since the fateful night in the opera house in 1919 and he believes her to be dead. You might be wondering why she has not revealed to her beloved that she did in fact survive. This is due to PSTD from the torture that mikael inflicted on her.
