This story explains Nikolai Lantsovs backstory and how he came to be who he is today. This story has a purpose later on. I am writing a story on Nikolai Lantsov x Alina Starkov, but I just wanted to share the backstory of the two. This information came from the internet, but hopefully it helps clear up things for people who haven't read the Shadow and Bone books or people who just want to learn more about Nikolai. Fast forward years later, he found a letter, addressed to him, giving him her last goodbye. --- Story referred to book Nikolai. Let's pretend this happened way before the event on Shadow and Bone, and ended after the Rule of Wolves.
