I've always been amazed at the way authors used words. They're all the same, really. Everyone uses the same words; they just rearrange them differently (or the same, depending on circumstance). Yet an author, a writer, can use those worn out words and never fail to amaze us all over and over again. They mystify us. They give us a new life: new feelings, new friends (real and imaginary), and, most importantly, new memories. I'm no expert, but I've always had this feeling that even the worst writer can give that effect if they only try. So I guess that's what this is. My try. This is my story: my collection of occasionally worthwhile thoughts. Maybe it'll inspire you. You may be better off if it doesn't. It's time for me to show you a new life. This is my chance to create new feelings. Perhaps you'll make a friend or two. Perhaps they'll be imaginary (but, of course, that doesn't mean unreal). With any luck, it's my turn to give you new memories. Dear reader, I bid thee well.

2011: It's been ten years since the sky literally came crashing down around Yael Malkah and upended her world. Now she's returned to New York to visit her ailing grandmother. With no other family, it's up to her to take care of the family business, even at the risk of her sobriety. Haustin Macauley is a firefighter struggling to come to terms with his survivor's guilt, and does whatever he can to drown out the event that still keeps him up at night, even taking reckless risks. The only thing that keeps him going is the people he saved when hell came crashing around him, the only proof he has that he isn't a complete failure. When Yael meets the man who saved her life that fateful day, she can't help but feel a connection in her grief. As Haustin and Yael grow closer, the two must find their way through the minefield of family problems and post-traumatic stress to the possibility of a life that might resemble normal again. Weekly Friday updates. Occasional Tuesday updates.

Shiloh and her sister are sent to live with their abusive aunt who torments them for years. Nearly 16 years later, Shiloh is physically and mentally, just going through the motions each day, not caring if she lives or dies. That is, until she stumbles upon a portal in the storage room of the L.L. Bean where she works and is whisked back to 1998, a simpler time of jelly bracelets and Britney Spears. Under the guidance of an unlikely ally (her AP English teacher, Jake Epping, to be exact), Shiloh finds herself on a mission to stop 9/11 and save not only her parents, but millions of American soldiers and civilians and Middle Eastern civilians as well.

Jenna is a 27 year old girl who lives in her apartment with her 28 year old brother, Tristan. It is September 21, 2003, not too long after one of the most infamous events in American history, 9/11, so there is lots of tension and conflict between Americans and Muslims. When Jenna goes out to work, she stumbles upon her brother, just barely hanging on. She figures out that he was beaten up and left for dead because of his former wife, Mahala Malek. An adventure awaits them along with further conflicts with the assailant, including a detective with an unknown trauma, a neon green painted door, painful and traumatic flashbacks from Tristan, and about 15 broken bones. Will Jenna and Tristan find the assaulter or will the criminal go unfound and abuse Tristan and his family even more?
