Nines has never really celebrated Christmas before. Sure, he was activated in November of 2038 - he's seen a Christmas come to pass - but he's never celebrated the holiday. With conflicts brewing between his brothers, he doesn't know if there will be very much in the way of Christmas spirit in store for him this year. Gavin's family always holds an annual Christmas reunion in their hometown in Minnesota. With his mother's health on the decline, the Reed family doesn't know how many more Christmases she has left, meaning this year's holiday is especially important. Nearly every member of Gavin's lineage is going to be there - Hell, even Elijah found the time to come home, something he rarely ever does anymore. When Gavin invites Nines to come with him to Minnesota, Nines is eager to go. He's desperate to make a good impression, and hopefully help to mend his partner's decaying reputation within his family.
