It's a new term at Olivine Isle Academy, and it could not be off to a better start. Rory is finally practicing her own magic, there are three new students and Tess is studying on the other side of the world. That is until a vampire bat mysteriously appears on the island, and Rory begins to fear that her old enemies may not be as dead as she thought. In order to bring the truth to light and prove herself innocent of murder, Rory must prove that this vampire bat is more dangerous than meets the eye. In order to do that she must uncover the school's dark past, and the part her own grandmother played in it. Along the way, Rory is forced to confront the unsettling truth behind her curse, as well as her own complicated feelings towards Tess. Derek Stokes is a freshman at Lincoln County High School in 1996. The challenges he faces while navigating the obstacles of life as a teenage boy in the nineties, friends, enemies, social status, and a truly maniacal bully with murder on his mind make for an interesting coming of age story.

This story takes place in 1995. A group of teens are making their way back from a camping trip when it takes a turn for the worst. The crash wasn't the trauma, it's what came afterwards. Will our groups of teens keep their sanity when all seems normal again?

Even though everything they would go through, he never once again felt that emptiness in his heart. Now they'll have to navigate life and come of age in a world they've never felt understood by, trying to survive between the drugs and the fame and the uncertainty of tomorrow. It's their choice whether to drown or to fly - and whether to do it together or apart. The decision could seem obvious - but life is a bitch who never gives you what you want, and they know that very well. Well shit, at least they are going to try.
