Now, Lisa-former military intelligence-and Jennie, the neurologist connected to the outbreak in ways no one fully understands, are forced to survive alongside a small group hiding outside the city. But this isn't something that hunts blindly. It learns. It adapts. And it follows human response. As containment collapses and the truth behind the outbreak begins to surface, they realize one thing too late: this was never meant to stay contained.

Consciente de que sermonearla o intentar cambiar de golpe su vestimenta no servirá de nada, TN empieza a colarse en su departamento con excusas simples: compartir comida casera antes de que oscurezca, ayudarla a entregar proyectos a tiempo y acompañarla en sus maratones nocturnos. Lo que empieza como un esfuerzo paciente por lograr que Rulership abra las cortinas, se exponga a la luz del sol y se atreva a poner un pie en la calle con su peculiar estilo, se transforma gradualmente en una convivencia íntima y afectuosa. Entre discusiones de madrugada, mejillas sonrojadas tras la pantalla y pequeños paseos bajo la ciudad iluminada, Rulership descubrirá que el mundo exterior deja de ser agotador cuando tiene a TN a su lado para guiarla en cada paso.
