This AU takes place in the events of the episode, Heart Of Evil, in Season 5 of the show. I recommend watching the episodes, Mutant Gangland, in Season 4 and, Heart Of Evil, in Season 5 before reading this. It'll help you better understand the events in this AU. Leo wishes he could forget that night. He wishes he could forget Donnie's expression. Forget the blood. Forget the words: "This is the end." But some memories don't fade. And some secrets don't stay buried. As Donnie drifts further away and Leo begins to lose sleep, lose hope, and maybe even lose himself, the cracks in their family start to show. Raph knows something is wrong. Mikey knows everyone's hurting. And Leo knows one terrible truth: Some things can't be undone. And not all nightmares end when you wake up. This Is The End But the nightmare has only just begun. (I'm not entirely sure how to explain this AU because it's kinda a lot. All I can really do to explain it is that it mostly revolves around Leo and Donnie. But you can decide what kind of an AU it is to you. It may not begin in the most fortunate of ways, but soon Amara finds a beacon of hope that her life can be so much more. She simply never thought, however, that the beacon of hope she was looking for in a better future would come in the form of four mutant turtles living under the city. One night Amara regains hope for a better home and a family. But there's an evil brewing in the city. The Shredder is dead, at least, that's what the word was that was going around. The turtles thought they had him defeated. They thought they had killed him a couple years ago. But then the secret heroes of New York started seeing and hearing about the sudden increase in Foot Clan attacks and robberies. Was Shredder still alive? The Foot Clan was on a mission, looking for something, seeking something. They were planning something, but what? Amara may be getting a bit more than what she was thinking when she found the turtles, but she didn't regret it.

An ordinary night for the ninja turtles becomes something else when a girl who's fast asleep is found in the lair.
