Raelynn is a senior in high school who prays everyday her life will change. At home, she lives in fear, wondering when the next blow from her stepfather will come. At school, she puts a smile on her face, and pretends everything is fine. Softball helps, it provides an escape that he approves of, the one thing she does right. Everything changes when Maverick Mitchell becomes the manager for the softball team. Maverick's whole life has been baseball. He's lived and breathed it since he was 8. When he makes a mistake that costs him his spot on the team junior year, he'll do anything to get it back; including being the manager of a team where he is universally hated. What he doesn't realize is that Raelynn, the girl with sad eyes, will change his life forever. Version 2: In the daytime, she's Raelynn, just a normal girl, with a normal life. But there's something about her that no one knows yet. Her mother and father died before she entered high school, leaving her with an abusive stepdad monopolizing her K-pop idol inheritance. Her only escape is softball, and even that takes a turn when Maverick Mitchell becomes her team's manager, he brings a light to her life she hasn't felt in a long time. But still, she'll do anything to escape Unc, even if it means leaving everything, and everyone behind. MIRACULOUS!
