All connection to the outside world has been cut off. The radios and TVs had gone out weeks ago. No news of help, supply crates, or evacuations. You don't even know if there is some semblance of normal life outside anymore, and it's certain that no one is coming to look for survivors. Lady Stars, our now mortal, once goddess, is the mother of many adopted wards and has been alive since long before time came into exist and the first god. Lord Death is a naturally born god, child to those who became gods without her assistance, ruling over the realm of the dead. This is heavily based on the myth of Hades and Persephone, remade to a new original pantheon. It is intended as enemies to friends to lovers, but things might change as things progress. Lord Death was long ago promised through legend that one day he would have a wife, who was once mortal, and who would become a goddess when he reaped her soul. How he treated her after that would greatly change his fate, but no matter what, his realm will get a queen and he will get a wife. Lady Stars though, is still mourning her lost immortality and will eventually be dragged into this legend without her agreement.
