Though deemed power-hungry and warmongering by those fortunate enough to live outside of its rule, to Gaia Machina, it was home. Well, "home" was a stretch. Initially planned to be an espionage unit more akin to an android than her MT brethren, budget limitations reduced Gaia to just another pawn used for more destruction. That was, until a chance fight outside of Insomnia, Lucis's capital, gave her the opportunity she needed for her own freedom. She was finally able to make her own choice: to take her own side and forge her own path- a path of redemption. Throwing caution to the wind and hiding her magitek nature, she set off to join Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum in finally bringing an end to Niflheim's destruction. However, walls eventually crumble, no matter what. Her act can only be held up for so long before her new friends realize she isn't exactly the hunter she claimed to be. It also seemed that fate had more in store for the rogue magitek than just helping the Chosen King fulfill his destiny. Reminders of her past, brought into a new light by her choices in the present. His heart leaped into his throat. The window creaked open and he held his breath. No way. The soft thud of boots against the wooden floor practically echoed through his head. Noctis very carefully peeled an eye open, stifling a gasp of pure shock. Hunched by the glowing tree was a man dressed head to toe in fluffy red and white clothes. REWRITE STARTED: 4/12/23 This just in, breaking news, Niflheim forces have surrounded Insomnia in an attempt to take over Crown City. We can confirm that Royal forces are en route to defend the nation's capital. All civilians are ordered to shelter in place or underground and all protestors are being asked to seek shelter in businesses. What was once a grand city of hope is now a battlefield. Insomnia, as we know it, is falling. - This is my own personal twist on FFXV. I, in no way, claim ownership of the characters created by the Final Fantasy franchise.
