Waking up at 6:30 in the morning, showering at 6:45, and being in the cafeteria dressed and ready for breakfast at no later than 7:05 is something I have been doing for as far back as I can remember. My name is Diane, and I am an institute baby. Fifteen year old Diane is part of an experiment. Take a baby who only has the emotions of happy and sad and stunt it's emotional growth. She has been living according to the same exact schedule her entire life. This changes when Chloe joins into their group without warning one morning, and starts causing Diane to feel something she has been programmed not to: love. After discovering this new feeling Diane wonders what other emotions she could regain with the help of Chloe.
