When a new neighbor moves in, life seems chaotic at first-loud voices, constant visitors, and a parade of strangers through the shared walls. But as the noise fades, a creeping unease takes its place. Strange routines, a mysterious car parked outside, and disappearing neighbors reveal that silence can be just as unsettling as chaos. In a quiet townhome community, the real disturbances aren't always loud-they're just unseen.

The library is usually quiet, but today, it is filled with commotion. I am huddled at my customary table with my computer and stack of books, determined to write. To be productive. I left home to escape the perpetual evanescence of my three children, who wake at eight o’clock each morning, dinging brightly like miniature summertime bells. “What are we doing today, mom?”, ding. “Can we play in the sprinklers?”, dong. “Who ate the last red popsicle? You said I could have it!”, ding, dong! “I don’t want to take the dog for a walk, I might get kidnapped!”, ding, dong, ding, DONG!

Lucia Hamilton wasn't exactly the poster child for a normal life. She grew up with abuse all around her daily life by her mother and her many boyfriends. She often times had visits to her aunts house when her mother would leave with whichever man she was fucking at the time. Until she never came back. And although Aunt Hanna knew what was going on, it was too hard for her to accept the fact that her sister was incapable of being the mother figure Lucy needed, so she'd became one herself. There Lucy had cousins, friends, love, peace, security, everything a little girl deserved but didn't know she had until it was gone. That was until her cousin got a new best-friend about 10 years back. He was a black haired, piercing green eyed, smirk wielding boy who stopped at no end to make her last safe haven a place of torture. Taunting, teasing, physically damaging and mentally scarring were no exceptions to the plague that was Lennox. Once a place that felt like home, began to feel like her prison. The change in her was obvious too and she stopped chatting like she used to, now became a more quiet girl. She didn't let anyone see how she was feeling, keeping it all bottled inside only to breakdown and close up again. She looked exactly the same, but it was clear it wasn't the same girl. Lucy had finally cracked and Lennox James Morrison was the anti-christ who started it all. It went on for years like this. No mother in sight and little peace for the golden locked girl. Until the day of her senior year, she made a pact to herself that she'd get better, feel stronger, wouldn't let anyone bring her down or stray her from where she wanted to go. They faded into the background and she barely paid attention to anything that felt like an anchor on her back. Everything became background noise.

Mini Poems: poems that don't take up more than a wattpad page. This is a book of mini poems, with topics that include: -tortured love -one-shot imaginations -a description of the little things in everyday life -confessions of what bothers my mind. Most-to-all of these are in freestyle and do not rhyme, because I feel like I skew the meaning of the poem if I try to rhyme...it's not a natural quality to my poems, so I'd just rather not attempt that. There's an eventual journey into much of my mind if you read far enough. Thread with careful step, reader, because you'll end up looking into my soul. With much love to my torturer, who doesn't even know, this one's for you and me <3 Oh and yes, this book is finished, because it is filled with exactly 100 poems! Exciting, right?
