7 years ago, Oliver Davis left Japan with an unsolved case, a missing assistant and a separated team. The night before his flight, he couldn't sleep because of the cry of a very loud cat- but was it a cat? The young Oliver Davis ends up taking care of a beautiful baby girl for the next 7 years and the case unsolved 7 years ago re-opens with a new set of victims?

Just when SPR thought it was time to head back to Tokyo and recover from the Yoshimi case, Naru finally discovers what he'd been looking for and announces that the office will no longer exist. While others fish for his brother's corpse, SPR work on what might be their last case together...or at least, kind of together. It's hard to work together when your team members start to go missing, after all.

Naru, Lin, and Nira are back in Japan after a break, and soon after they arrive, the team takes a new case. This is one is as daunting as ever, and they may not be able to succeed without a certain someone who has yet to make an active appearance. Also, Hirota needs to take a deep breath. Or maybe ten. Things take a grim turn when a student's suicide note hint at the beginning of darker times for Ryokuryou High, but Naru is up to the challenge. To make things worse, Nira is caught in the crossfire of Mai and Naru's battle as she encourages him to do what he thinks is the best solution and faces the consequences of knowing all the spoilers.
