Haar moeder is werkloos en dan hebben ze ook nog eens 3 Kinderen ; Rachel (14) , Celeste (11) Bart (10). Het kost haar ouders veel te veel geld om hun allemaal goed te kunnen opvoeden. Dus ze besluiten Rachel naar een weeshuis te brengen. ze ontmoet haar liefde van d'r leven en maakt nieuwe vrienden

Ik fietste uit school naar huis toen plotseling een jongen tegen me begon te praten. Hij heeft de mooiste blauwe ogen die ik ook gezien heb en de kastanje bruin haar. Hij was gewoon perfect, nou ja zo leek het in ieder geval...

Ik ben Evi 14 jaar en ik ben een eeneiige tweeling. Mijn tweelingzus heet Mia. Zij is de brutale en ik de brave om het maar zo te zeggen. Vlak na onze geboorte is onze moeder overleden. Ik heb nooit geweten hoe, waaraan en waarom. Mijn vader heeft Mia en mij na het overleiden van onze moeder heel streng opgevoed. Waarom? Geen idee! We mochten nooit je, pap, pa of Richard zeggen, NEE! Het was altijd u of vader (Ik houd me daar heel braaf aan en Mia niet want zij is best brutaal). Verder: - Onder het eten niet smakken, handen boven tafel, opeten wat je opschept, niet praten maar eten en allemaal van dat soort stomme dingen. - Op tijd naar bed. - Owee als je te laat op school komt - We mogen geen cijfers onder de 7,5 halen. Anders moeten we naar boven de hele tijd leren totdat we het volgende cijfer hebben. En deze moet dan dus boven de 7,5 zijn. - We mogen maar 20 minuten op onze mobiel. - 's Avonds bepaalt vader wat er gekeken word. Eigenlijk kan ik zo nog wel uren doorgaan maar het komt er op neer dat ik en Mia geen recht van spreken hebben in ons huis. Op onze 14 worden Mia en ik in een adoptie gezin geplaats bij elkaar vandaan op een hele nare wijze. Mijn leven is gewoon stom. Ik word overgeplaatst naar Australië waar ik mijn hele leven op nieuw moet beginnen. En hoe! Meat Evi. Een braaf meisje die na een nare ervaring totaal verandert. Nieuwsgierig hoe?
