25-year old Lee still hasn't figured out why they could not form any long-lasting relationships, even friendships for that matter. Aside from family members, which they are obligated to talk to, there is no one else Lee had even come close to calling a friend. Well, maybe except for one. -------- Submitted for ONC 2026 @OpenNovellaContest Using the following prompts : 29. You will meet many people in your life. Many will come and go, but some will leave footprints in your heart. 104. While wandering in the woods, you dismiss the rustling behind you as nothing more than wind through the trees until you turn around and realize it isn't the wind at all. 106. After waking at 3AM to a freezing room and a door you're certain you closed, you find wet footprints and melting snow leading from your bedroom into the hall. Realizing someone or something is inside your home, you follow the trail to uncover the truth. All rights reserved by @J. Lee Kennedy, except for images contained in this book. What is love? Anveshna - this question asked by her mom shook her and usually Anveshna never asked for answers-until life handed her questions she couldn't ignore. One summer, surrounded by silence, dust, and memories no one speaks of, she stumbles into something that changes the way she sees everything. What begins as boredom turns into a quiet unraveling of the past-layer by layer, letter by letter. She thought she knew her family. She thought she knew herself. She was wrong. the question-what is love was only the beginning and anveshna had to answer and understand many questions in this journey. A slow-burning, emotionally raw story about the search for truth, connection, and the courage to face what we're not ready to hear.

If Rick had just kept his calm when he found Nancy in a crate and sealed it back, then this non-linear crime thriller of a botched operation leading to a series of events affecting surrounding people, wouldn't have happened. This story is the first of Agurs Smith Emerald, your thoughts on the chapters and story will always be appreciated. He will use it to better himself as he writes the next story. Thank you for choosing to read Disclaimer: Something was attempted for this story, and it was that there wasn't any internal monologue from either the character or the author. Relying on the character's actions and dialogue, won't be present in the next story.

A wandering collection of messy feelings, half-formed truths, midnight epiphanies and the kind of chaos you collect while growing up. There's no perfect storyline here-just honesty, curiosity, and the little lessons life slips when you're not paying attention.

A dying town launches a rebranding campaign that no one seems to be running. The billboards appear overnight. The slogans don't explain themselves. A diner waitress says nobody puts them up, and nobody takes them down. A couple arrives expecting ironic tourism and finds something closer to a live experiment. Beauchêne doesn't ask visitors to believe anything. It only asks them to stay. To notice. To participate. What begins as small-town decay becomes a slow, sideways unraveling... murals that feel instructional, civic programs that behave like dares, and a town that seems increasingly aware of the people passing through it. A surreal, slow-burn satire about American decline, anti-branding, and the strange comfort of entropy. Meaning doesn't collapse here. It rebrands. Entropy is a vibe. Decline tastes like caramel. Welcome to Beauchêne. You're here now.

"I can't mourn what isn't dead yet, not again." --- How do you uproot the entirety of who you are, when it's tangled up in someone else? Ford and Savannah know it's throw away old strings, but reminiscing in an old beat up truck together isn't making the process any easier.

Sophisticated virtual reality is something people would have said in the first half of 21st century. Now it's just called life. With the emergency of true A.I and an influx of people desperate to escape the mundane of the everyday, a perfect concoction was created and served to humanity as Eris World, or just Eris if you don't want to be pedantic about it. Ever wanted to actually live out your favourite video game fantasies? Sure, go for it. But you'd only be scratching the surface of what Eris offers. Full life simulation, create your world how you want it. Want to live as a normie and raise a family, totally achievable. How about instead of driving to work you fly to work? That family you're raising needs an education. Eris will provide. How better to understand the uselessness of the appendix than standing up against one in pure 8K goodness! It's a utopia. It's beautiful and it's all yours. It'd be remiss to neglect mention of the deaths, so there. Mentioned. ------ This is an ongoing short novel I am currently writing.

Constantine's life didn't start until he met Eden. Eden is lost without Constantine. They've been best friends since they were four years old, and they are each other's worlds. Originally a place of refuge for each other, their relationship quickly grows unhealthy as Constantine becomes obsessed with Eden. Eden feels increasingly trapped as Constantine spirals. Can Eden save Constantine, or will he pull her down too? Sort of non-linear narration (each chapter treats a certain age, but not necessarily in order). Let me know what you think - comments, critiques, even suggested story lines, etc. all welcome. Thanks for reading and hope you enjoy!

Some things or people keep finding their ways in your life. Maybe because it was meant to happen. Maybe because we were meant to be. I dare not say it out loud though. Genre - Romance/ Contemporary Other tags - Second chance POV - 1st Person Past Tense Copyright © 2023 Detroit99Turbulence ALL RIGHTS RESERVED I do not own the images. Copyright goes to the original owners. P.S. This one shot-even though it has nothing to do with the said characters-was inspired after I watched ten minutes clip of Rory and Jess from Gilmore Girls. One of my close friends made me watch it and I couldn't stop thinking about them. Hence this story was the consequences of my 24 hours of fangirling about the ship Ross/Jery (okay the ship names are just bad, I don't even like Ross (Friends) that much). The MCs here are nothing like them though. I just randomly made them up after a ten minute walk in my room. Lol. Yeah, sometimes I am impulsive. Anyway, I personally don't like the mistakes the main characters made in the story but hey no one is perfect. Also I feel bad for some of the characters here. #Justice_for_Cynthia #Justice_for_ArchieComics If you read the story you'll understand what I mean. Okay enjoy! ♡

Welcome to The Fort - where folk horrors and eldritch terrors meet! The Fort is a town like a thousand other small and stubborn settlements, put where it doesn't belong in a land most unforgiving. There amongst the other townsfolk, live the LaPonte family. Mildred, and Mark - along with their 2 wonderful children. They live in a quaint house; modest and rundown, but very much a home filled with love. But all in not well in The Fort.... Dark forces look in on the LaPonte Family, through the windows, standing at the edge of their property where their land meets the overgrown and wild edges of a persistent, and creeping wilderness. Above, below, and beside are vast worlds of slumbering, malevolent creatures of existentially ambiguous origins, waiting to devour all.

What if our minds worked in a completely different manner? What if we could see the future as if it was the past, and know each detail of our lives from the very start? This is the non linear short story of two girls who fall in love, told in a way hard to comprehend (and interesting to write) where the present lives in the future, the future is veiwed in the past, and the past a little bit of both. A lifetime of love and passion, anticipated from the very first breath.

~Sequel to The Ordinary Haunting~ Tay Tawan was not expecting to get tied to New Thitipoom when he died. He used to be a happy-go-lucky kind of guy; the kind with no real troubles or regrets that he considered important enough to stop him from his eternal afterlife of sunflowers and guitar ballads and hypothetical match-ups between wild animals that would otherwise usually never encounter each other. So what was it? What kept him watching the sun rise and set each day with a yearning in his chest that was no longer about moving on? What made him want to feel his feet firmly on the ground, his heart stutter out a beat, his hands warmly in another's? What would it take to allow him to stay? This was going to be one hell of a difficult, painful, extraordinary haunting. ~~~~ *Please note: this story will be published once a week, in mostly non-linear order. Chapters are numbered in correct order. You can read however you prefer!* *Check the tags before reading.* *This is a work of fanfiction.
