A comedy stretching from the 1940s to the 1960s. Charting the rise of two families who live in the specific area of Northern France known as Le Nord. The Family Dubois, whose wealth and position has been aided by having no morals in the war are now the models of wealth and respectability. The Family Millieux, a woman who never had any morals in the war, but did an awful lot for morale. Unfortunately, she never made any money! These two families are thrown together by the chance meeting of their son and daughter and eventually the two families are brought together by their marriage. The Millieux family achieve financial respectability when Gabrielle Millieux the mother of the bride and with no respectability eventually finds the man of her dreams, a man with a large wallet!
