(DISCONTINUED) What you need to know: In this world, 1. Some people have superpowers. 2. They're called Freaks. 3. Freaks live in FreakTown (secluded from everyone else) 4. Freaks must wear collars to prevent them from using their power and it alerts authorities when they're using them. 5. Freaks go to school with Norms. 6. Norms are people who were born without powers or they're born "normal". 7. Any Freak that commits crimes against a Norm results in a harsher punishment than a Norm against Norm crime. 8. Freaks are treated as lesser citizens 9. If you were born a Freak to a Norm family, you are taken and placed in FreakTown with a foster family. 10. If a Norm is born from Freaks, it will be taken to a Norm foster family. 11. Freaks don't bother dealing with Norms because they know it is pointless to try. 12. Freaks are not allowed outside of FreakTown without a Collar. 13. Only certain Freaks leave FreakTown for market and to get some more goods and supplies. 14. Freaks don't fall in Love with Norms John Laurens is a Freak. He was born with a "superpower", which the Norms call a disgusting error in humanity. He has the ability to make anyone who dare meet his eyes fall under his control and become what he wants them to be, he also has the ability to make fire with his hands, a simple snap of his finger and your eyebrows are singed off. So the Norms avoid him at every cost. See his collar does stop his mind control but his fire is a different story. So nobody dares to get on his bad side. He's accepted the fact that this is how things are, Freaks stay in FreakTown, Norms stay OUT of FreakTown. That's how it is. No if's, and's or but's about it. Nobody can change this, so why try? At least that's what he thought. Before he met a gorgeous Norm who has a childlike wonder and fascination with Freaks and wants to change the status quo. But he's a Freak, and Norms and Freaks DO NOT get along... But maybe that can change? (DISCONTINUED)

In a small, nameless town, Kathleen lived with her family. Her father, a schoolteacher, and her mother, a homemaker, had modest means but big expectations. Kathleen's dreams, however, were different. She aspired to be a scholar, social reformer, and author. Her family and society scoffed at her ambitions, pushing her to conform to traditional roles. Kathleen's writings became her escape and rebellion. She poured her heart and soul into essays, critiquing societal norms and expectations. Her family disapproved, fearing her writing would bring shame. Despite this, Kathleen persisted, mailing her work to local newspapers. When one got published, she felt heard. The publication sparked tension at home. Her father raged, warning her to silence. Kathleen, however, refused to back down. She wrote in her journal, "If silence is my inheritance, I choose to break it." Her dreams were now stitched into her skin. Kathleen envisioned building a school where girls could speak freely and celebrate their questions. She wanted to inspire, teach, and change the air. The dustbin beside her desk, once a symbol of defeat, now represented battles fought and never surrendered. Kathleen's story is one of resilience and determination. She refused to let societal expectations define her. Instead, she chose to break the silence and forge her own path.

We've all been severely impacted by the choices we make, some trivial, some deliberative, this short story highlights the prefixed perception of Indian society towards certain options of occupation and also emphasizes that in judging a path, one mustn't decide its credibility by what's at the end but what's in the path itself.

This is just a story I wrote because I was bored and disappointed in all the norms in society. Like who chose that makeup was girly? Anyway this is really short but I hope u like it <3 Please ignore my spelling mistakes, thank you. :"

In a word divided into two ,the ones that are normal (they are called the Norms) and the ones that are "freaks". You never see the freaks very often because they stay hidden eight months out of the year,but from May 1st to August 31st thats the freaks time to shine. They make tents,buildings, and sometimes just booths and they show their freak side to the world. The Norms call it 'The Circus of Extra Ordinary People .' A lot of Norms go to the Circus every year to see the "freaks" and see what they can do. The "freaks" all have different talents , or should I say something that scares people. Lena Myers was a pretty abnormal girl ,well if you count waking up in a strange town while she is also in snow ,with no memory at all abnormal then yes ,you could say that Lena Myers was weird. Though she was never considered a freak. She has gotten bullied for being different from the rest of the Norms. All she is, is confused is what she is supposed to be and what she was.Lena (as far as she knows) she is an orphan ,with no family,no where to live,she barley even gets by ,she goes couch to couch at her friends house (on a good day.) Noah was the Magician of Glass,he was called that mostly because he has the weird glass mirror station at the Circus. He is known for being the leader of the Freaks,he helps them join and become apart of the freak Circus ,but most of the Norms think that he's fake because nobody ever sees him. One day a confused and lost Lena went to The Circus of Extra Ordinary People and looked around. I'm no time she ended up in the Magical Mirrors exhibit and finds out the truth about her life and her past life that she no longer remembers. She may end up knowing way more that she would like.
