A short one shot and continuation of the story by Elizabeth Gaskell. This is my first time writing fanfiction after years of reading it. I might continue writing this story since I'm very interested in what M and J's life in Miton will be like :)

A modern retelling of the classic tale North and South by Elizabeth Gaskell. Megan Hale grew up in New York with her cousin, Emily. After Emily gets married, Meg goes back to her childhood home of Portland for the summer before coming all the way out to Boston for a scholarship at BU. When Her father looses his job as a morals and ethics professor at UFO, Meg's parents join her in Boston. There, Meg meets friends and other not so friendly acquaintances which can make quite an first impression. Meanwhile, tech inventor John runs into troubles and struggles to balance business and feelings for Meg though she cannot stand him. As deals fall through and family members become ill, will love truly conquer all in the end? ------------------------------------------------ This will be my second book and I am trying to get further along into my first before working more on this one.
