She is the perfect daughter of the South; graceful, composed, and so controlled it almost feels like she has forgotten how to be anything else.
But what they call silence is not peace. It is everything she has been forced to bury; every word she was never allowed to speak, every feeling she was never permitted to keep, every version of herself that had to disappear in order to survive.
