It’s 1955 and Tom Carver is a young architect living in Australia. He travels across to England to visit family and whilst travelling on a train from London to Cornwall he has a chance meeting that changes his life forever. At the outset he is a rather callow and shallow young man, but through his travels and trials he becomes so much more. His story takes him from Cornwall, to London and Sydney. He learns compassion when he realises that the only difference between himself and others less fortunate is usually nothing more than sheer luck.

"Looking up at the rainy night sky, feeling the tension every time I'm touched by a raindrop I lay down on the cold, wet floor, softly pressing my cheek against it. What is it like down there, I wonder? I don't believe in hell but what if there's another civilization down there, what if they're much more considerate than us humans?" Ivy Henderson, a young teenage girl starts hearing a boy from below the surface talking to her. She accidentally tells her friends but they don't believe her and think she's schizophrenic. At the same time a machine for erasing memories and the illness of schizophrenic people is invented and her Mom thinks it would be best for her to attend that programme.

This is a fanfiction story using characters from Stranger Things, owned by Netflix and the Duffer Brothers. I do not claim ownership of the characters or universe; all original writing is mine! Between The Lines follows the story of Byler - Will Byers and Mike Wheeler - during the events of Stranger Things Season 5. This is my first fanfic, so it might be a little rough around the edges, but I promise it's heartfelt and soft. This is a slow-burn, kind-hearted BL story with no sexual content.
