An exoplanet. One of those lonely wanderers that isn't orbiting a star. Just ambling about the void. It's cold. It's dark. But we're humans. We have space travel capable of reaching it. And being humans, of course we have to see it for ourselves. It all started when we actually, really and truly SAW it. Not just a blip on some machine. Saw it. With our very own hyper powered telescopes. We sent probes. Empty. But you know what we had to do? We had to put people on it. So we did. But in so doing, we woke them up.
Throughout time, life has always surprised us. There's no way there should be any life in the bottom of the ocean. There's no light and immense pressure. No way could anything survive down there. And yet, there's life. It's twisted and frightening, but its life. Planet (insert name here) is no different.
We knew that the brave souls who went on the (insert name here) mission were there to stay, but we never expected what happened. Communications were lost, along with the entire scientific crew in fighting... them. Generations passed, and the colony subsisted. Sorta.
