The last thing I remember are her screams. They echo in my head every time I close my eyes. A sound that cannot even be explained. The way you could hear her throat being torn raw as she said my name. The tears that shone on her face and continued to viciously fall as she was pulled backwards. I know I yelled; I know I was pulled away. Begged to stop, but all I see and all I saw was my mother's limp body collapsing on the ground over and over again and the silence that fell soon after like my entire world had not just fallen apart. The only other thing from that day that was as clear in my mind as my mother's screams was the face that killed her. And that is a face I will never forget.
