Some words are too heavy to say out loud, so they linger in silence, stolen glances, and in space between heartbeats. This piece reflects the weight of the things we never say-the love, the pain, the questions left unanswered. A journey through the echoes of unspoken truths and the scars they leave behind.

Stella hasn't ever exactly been "normal." Not by a long shot. But-mental problems and friend problems aside-there's something else. One really specific thing that's been gnawing on her insides for so long, convincing her that she's alone. Definitely. She's wrong, though. As crazy as that seems in her mind. No, in fact, soon she'll find herself pushed into a world full of secrets and deceptions and cruelty and pain. She's definitely not alone, but is the price tag that comes along with that knowledge really worth it? But that doesn't matter. She never had a choice. Not for any of it... In fact, none of them had any choice. And all of them have their own story to tell. She, small-town Stella, quiet and strange, almost invisible, might just be the most insignificant of them all compared to the scars the rest of them have, the lives the rest of them have lived. Or maybe... Maybe she'll find herself at the center of a centuries-old struggle where nothing is as it seems. Pain and suffering? What is that next to demons and goddesses, the ancient, delicate balance of light and dark, betrayal and trickery? A last effort on the part of a dying, old, power, whose influence is slowly, slowly fading... An effort that seems destined to fail. But after all the time that has gone by, how can the threads that hold it all together depend on the few of them, confused, hurting, and so very young souls? And does any of it fit together, or is it all just random and chaotic? And how much effort will it take to fix it all? Or have they already failed, long ago? And whose test? Where does the struggle end? And where did it start? Adam Landrin's family convinced his worrisome mother to allow him to be a passenger on a plane alone- meant to arrive at their family vacation destination to Florida. Sadly, the plane crashed, and Adam thought he was the sole survivor. Upon his return, psychological doctors supposedly diagnosed him with a mental difficulty. For many following years, his paranoid mother hardly allowed him to leave the house, causing him to be somewhat inexperienced and unaware of the world around him. When Adam sneaks out into town he meets someone equally as innocent - Kismet Rivers, a local, old-fashioned, positive girl. The question still remains if Adam's diagnosis was an actual one and if that affects his ability to live his life.
