He treated her with the kindness she couldn't get anywhere else so she thought, she didn't know exactly but grew into the dark side, sticking to her "father" as she called him. She learned all about the Republic government and sometimes assisted in meetings if she was even allowed which wasn't always. She followed the Jedi order to lead her to become a Padawan and get trained by a Master. In this case for her it wasn't all the best, she scored good on everything involving physicality and mentality, until her father had to pull her from being trained by a master to be at the hands of Count Dooku, she didn't agree but it wasn't up to her in the end.
