Possessing or harming the weaker mono humans is the fastest way to gain the wrong attention from any cleaner, let alone one known to treat knights with extreme prejudice. Most importantly, when Lillas executes someone, EVERYONE knows. She is power. Power has no fear. Power doesn't lie. With bodies hitting the floor left and right, the knights care about none of this. She either finds the real killer, or the whole city's gotta go. Power of the People is book one of the "Demon Cleaner" series. It's an urban fantasy in the vein of "Bright" or Kim Harrison's "Hollows" series. While there are no fairies, there are vampires, magicians, empowered humans, spectral humans, and regular mono humans. The focus of PotP is the war between demon knights and demon cleaners.
