The friend. The pain. Kat Foster has lived a life of fear. She wasn't always like this. One traumatic experience has landed her a life of fear of leaving her home. She can walk onto the porch, but that is as far as she will ever go. The hurt. It would just never go away. Until one day... He is the one who believes in her. The new boy next door. With the chocolate brown hair and emerald green eyes that shine with happiness. Kat only wishes her dull brown eyes could hold the life and laughter in them like Chase's, but her hopes feel like dreams that will never happen. Chase once saw the broken girl in front of him, and makes it his mission to help her, for he to has lost someone very close to him and sees himself in Kat. Together, they will work to become friends from window to window. Then they become friends who talk regularly. But sometimes, good can't stay forever. December 17thth comes and all the effort may be gone to waste. Can Chase help Kat, or is the effort all a waste? Will something other than friendship spark? Will Kat ever be able to walk in the sun, swing on a swing, laugh into the night sky, go to a public school, and forgive herself ever again? No people, names, or events in this story are true.
