This takes place in Darkstalker era. Toothless felt the ropes catch around his wings, around his body, as he fell towards the forest. He of all dragons had been shot down, by a human of all things. He watched the forest draw nearer, closer, closer. He closed his eyes, bracing for the impact. No impact came.

His parents fights, his brothers behavior, his strangeness to the tribe that was supposed to call him a friend. But he wasn't going to let that define him, let his brother try to get him to use his magic carelessly, or obsess over a certain Nightwing because she appears in his visions, as she does with Darkstalker.
