Fletcher makes decisions that determine the fate of hominum, harnesses new demons and discovers his family's past. Will he be accepted as a noble? Will he end the orcs? Will he end up with verity or sylva? This is a fanfiction with very few characters of my own creation and all credit to Taran Matharu. A short suspense story about an unsual death...

The first thing I do once I sit down, is unzip my baby blue small book bag and pull out my favorite book of my beloved maze runner series, the scorch trails. I see Emm do the same thing but instead pull out her favorite book of the Percy Jackson series, the battle of the Lanberynth. I know what you must been thinking. What are a pair of sixteen year old high school student doing reading those books? We don't really read them in public. We only do when we need to focus on something else. Clear our minds. People tend to think I am one of those people who wouldn't be caught with a book unless it has the answers to a test written in it or something. The people in our school just assume Emm and I are some kind of popular brainless girls, whose only talent is to be social. They dont know me. None of them. After middle school Emm and I promised we wouldn't be the nerds anymore. Start being social and stop hiding behind books. Dont get me wrong I love reading. But sometimes I would use it to avoid things instead of facing them. Now I avoid books in public, rather than using it as a shield. I am so concentrated in my book, that I dont even notice the fact that Emm is screaming in my ear. It wasnt until I feel a sharp pain in my leg that i realize that she moved from her table. "Are you deaf or something?!?" Emm screams. "Look!" Emm point at the huge glass window that shows the coutyard. The PE class was outside at this time running laps, thats when I see what Emm is showing me. A kid stops and starts screaming for help. Then dissapears into thin ear. Pls dont copy my idea, I worked really hard on this, and I would hate for someone to steal it. If you find out about anyone who copied my story, pls let me know!😋

The events in this story are set several years before the events in "The Novice" by Taran Matharu A war has begun. A war between the people of Hominium and the Orc tribes of the southern frontier. In a forward sentry base deep in the jungle, freshly recruited solders must adjust to life in dangerous surroundings. No one can come to their aid. They are outnumbered. Outmatched. Overpowered. They have an almost certain chance of being slaughtered. Even worse, in a brutal war and in country on the verge of collapse. Orcs may not be the only enemy to fear... This story is a Fan Tribute to the novel "Summoner: The Novice" by Wattpad's very own Taran Matharu.
