Government estimates, about 2 to 2.5 million mostly unskilled young persons are entering into the labour market every year (BBS, 2017). Compared to this, the number of jobs available is only a small fraction of the number of job seekers. The majority of the younger peoples including disproportionate amounts of women and disadvantaged groups are low-skilled with poorproductive jobs in the informal economy, or are self-employed. Upgrading skills is one method of improving the income and livelihoods of these workers and can help to bring them out of poverty. Government of Bangladesh has taken initiatives to develop human resources through technical education establishing Technical School and Colleges under Directorate of Technical Education.
