In 1983, a Soviet submarine falsely believed that Word War Three had begun, and fired a nuclear weapon towards the United States of America. Immediately sensing the weapon, the USA sent a barrage towards the USSR and its allies. The Soviet Union, sensing the American weapons, did the same. Within hours, 75% of the Earth's population had died, huge swathes of people following in the next few months. All of the Northern Hemisphere- minus a few remote areas and South America- was surely dead, their representatives included. Revolutions rose among surviving countries, areas such as Africa falling into chaos and bloodshed without a second thought. Oceania and South America were the only areas that survived with limited damage done. The people, however, were hysterical, roughly 180 countries having fallen in the blink of an eye. Fueled by paranoia, thousands of people who were- despite what they believed- barely in any form of danger fled to Antarctica, forming a new country: the Antarctic Union. When the first arrived, countless people died, not at all prepared for the harsh climate they faced. Humans are resilient, though, and a small pocket managed to survive the harsh cold. For two hundred years, nearly all of their essential supplies were from overseas, taken out by loans they hoped to be able to repay in the future. Finally, though, the Earth's temperature rose enough so that the Antarctic country could sustain plant growth and, well, life. Satisfied with the fact that her people can live, Maria Petronova- representative of the Antarctic Union- turns her eyes far north, to the barren nuclear wastelands of the old world. And she's not completely convinced that they all died. Warnings: This is not meant to be completely realistic Swearing A lot of your favourite characters are probably already dead Based on Hetalia, but not all characters match its canon depiction of them

Plot Line: When the Firestorm came, the world that was became no more. The dregs of humanity, what few remained, struggled to survive as the scarlet mist enveloped the broken landscape. A tattered remnant set forth to preserve knowledge for a future as yet uncertain. This is their story . . . Origin: This story is an expansion of a 2400 word short story "Firestorm" which I wrote in 1985 at age 18 (the original can be read here on WattPad as part of the Cold War Kid series). As of now I have no further plans for further expansion, unless readership proposes otherwise. All comments welcome. Thank you for reading. KMLS

Everyone saw it coming. Everyone. What others didn't see coming were survivors. Some were immune, yet 99% were not. Brielle just happened to survive. She had thought all hope was abandoned and there was no one else. What could become of the situation she had been put in? Was there anyone else? Why did she survive? The right amount of crazy and imagination with a sprinkle of romance (like every good story has ;)). All comments and votes are highly appreciated (especially comments because I wanna know how terrible or awesome this story/book is)!

[Love won't stop this bomb.] Edinburgh, 2018. War has broken out and constant threats of nuclear attacks are forcing people to choose between taking refuge in shelters and living the rest of their days underground, or staying in the streets, free but in living in fear for their lives. Natalie is one of the few who chooses to stay. However, Edinburgh is no longer the city it once was. Now, gangs roam the street, fighting for 'control' over the city. As supplies get scarce, every day becomes a matter of life and death. That, and the bomb looming over their heads. A lot of this story is inspired by MCR's album, Danger days.

Most Biblical commentators view the "abomination of desolation" as a "religious" sacrilege, akin to the one perpetrated by Antiochus IV Epiphanes in 167 BCE when he outlawed Jewish rites and desecrated the Temple by erecting an altar to Zeus. But the "abomination of desolation" causes utter destruction through the detonation of nuclear warheads on the Temple Mount. This would certainly constitute the most horrible sacrilege in human history!

In the year 2478, war broke out and left the world terribly devastated. Nuclear weapon after nuclear weapon was fired, killing hundreds of millions of people and causing massive damage to the Earth itself. Many species went extinct, and if any survived, the radiation from the craters in the ground caused any animal to mutate in horrifying ways. Few people were left, most hidden in shelters far underground. Four hundred years later, after so long from being underground, many of the shelters are forced to vacate their safe facilities to face the Earth - or what's left of it. This story follows sixteen year old Sebastian Gray as he forgets everything he knows about the secluded underground to survive in the world he only heard stories of as a kid. (Warning: contains profanity and gore.)

Have you ever wondered when you're watching a movie and they time travel to the past, if they alter something in their time line doesn't that mean in the future they would have to keep on doing it over and over again, in a loop? I bet your wondering; does this ever stop? What would happen if they stopped? Well this is what would happen.

Forged In Fire is the true story of a young girl's childhood in pre-WW II Tokyo; her schoolgirl dreams; the violence, starvation and desperation of wartime that drove her family out of the city; and the American Occupation that shaped Japan's future. It is the story of my mother, Rita (then named Tomoko), who was ten years old when World War II began and fourteen years old when it ended. Mom had often recounted her experiences to me and my siblings as we were growing up. At some point, Mom began urging us to write down her stories for her. I finally got around to honoring her request early last year (2014). Using audio recordings, notes, frequent phone calls and plenty of fact-checking, I eventually placed into chronological order the various fragments of her memories. On one hand, it is a young girl's story, told plainly. On the other hand, it is a remarkable glimpse into one of history's most tumultuous events - one not widely known. Mom was later diagnosed with cancer in July 2014 and eventually passed away at the age of 83 in August. Although severely weakened from her illness, she was happy and proud to hold a rough draft of the printed manuscript in her hands. It was her final wish that her story be published and so here it begins....
