This poem is a heartfelt tribute to motherhood, celebrating the evolving relationship between a mother and her child. It begins with an encouraging refrain, "Start showing off, Shine like mom!", inviting mothers to embrace and showcase their maternal journey with pride. The poem touches on various stages of motherhood, from carrying a child in the womb, symbolized by the mention of "David", to the deep, mature connection with an adult son. It emphasizes the intangible bond between mother and child, transcending physical distance and time. The poem also highlights the changing roles and perceptions as the child grows, portraying the mother first as a caretaker, then as a guide, and eventually as a revered figure in her child's life. The recurring theme is the enduring love and respect that flows between mother and child, with the mother's wisdom and warmth being a constant source of comfort and guidance. The poem concludes by reaffirming the unique and cherished position of a mother in her child's eyes, as she continues to shine in her role.

When I was in high school, I hated writing essays. We were always forced to write boring topics such as: Do you think the ACT should be required? or Should schools require uniforms? or Should schools require four days of school in a week or yeah, you get the point. High school barely allow any creativity and passion to flow in us to write what we wanted to write. It was just pretty much you-better-write-bullish*t-in-30-minutes-or-you're-gonna-die essays. I was never good at timed essays because I take a long time to brainstorm on what I'm gonna write. While I'm brainstorming, everyone's already on their second paragraph. I'm not good at bullish*t writing. I don't know why. I just wasn't. I'm much more of a feeling writer. I write what I feel. If I don't feel it, I won't put something random down. For some reason, I have to feel what I write to write my thoughts down. High school was just never a help to me. We all are expected to be the exact same. They can't expect everyone to have the same pace. However, in college, it was different. We got choices to pick our own topics to writing paragraphs and essays. I really feel that I developed more on my writing skills through choosing my own topics rather than write something I don't believe in or don't feel passionate about.
