It is a continuation of the end of the second movie. Jack and Lula have just shared their kiss and step out of the car hand in hand. The story continues from there. This is before the third movie.

Sofia Vegas worked at a popular restaurant as she uses her skills of illusion to entertain, and mostly manipulate, her customers. when getting ready for work one Friday morning a "Temperance" tarot card was slid into her front door as did four other tarot cards appear that week to Four down-on-their-luck magicians and bringing them together by an anonymous person who gives them the blueprints to a great illusion. A year later, they call themselves "The Five Horsemen", and the finale of their show is that they will rob a bank.

I'm Leah and I'm 19 years old. When I was 16, my parents died in a car crash so I had to live with my brother Danny. He always ends up doing the same thing nearly every day: He does an impressive magic trick to people passing by, he does the final trick on a girl and then they end up staying at our apartment for the night... Until this night. What I didn't realise was that I was in for a massive adventure full of running, cards and some new friends... Well one of them more than a friend. Mckayla Mckinney. Daughter of Chase Mckinney and Niece of Merritt Mckinney. Just a casual 23 year old woman living with her favourite uncle. But this only happened about 15 years ago when Merritt was loop-holed by his only brother, Chase Mckinney. Merritt, being so close to Mckayla, told her everything that happened that day he met the other Four Horsemen and everything that happened in the next year. Now to present day when Merritt leaves Mckayla for yet another Four Horsemen project, this makes her a little more vulnorable than most 24 year olds. One reason is that people know,including the FBI, that Mckayla is related to 1/4 Horsemen. Being used for blackmailing, courtesy of Walter Tressler, the Four Horsemen is one thing. Being reunited with your father is completely another. Join Mckayla with her oh-so-wonderful life of magic, hate, realization and feelings.

The Horsemen may have reveal Walter, but their jobs are far from over. The world is corrupt and help is needed to combat it. Which means the Eye is hiring. However, when their newest recruit is captured, the Horsemen have to save him and the information that he has before it's too late. But this new mission could cause them to learn about themselves and their teammates...
