Life as the prince of the Devildom is never lazy, but Diavolo is grateful that it's been smooth. That is until a human soul disappears, and the heavens are quick to call on the prince. Faced with the risk of war, Diavolo and his newest companion, a strange sheep demon that seemed to come out of the woodworks, must find and return the missing soul. Originally written for a one shot collection June 25, 2023, Census has dominated my mind as one of my favorite pieces I've written so much so that I've considered continuing the tale into a full length story. However, I did decide to separate it off from the collection. With more than 8,000 words, this short story can more than stand on its own. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
