The two were close with another student, Oboro Shirakumo, who lost his life in a building collapse during their work-study. Oboro had a profound impact on both of their lives, particularly Aizawa's,they were distraught to find out what actually happened to him.

Oboro's death was a tragedy, but in finding out Kurogiri was Oboro, made both Shota Aizawa, and Hazashi Yamada, kinda confused nlg. But i'm done with all of his backstory.
