Sasha. it's been months since the last time she saw this beach. one year. it seemed so long to her. nevertheless, she still knew every corner of it. this sunset. those evenings when she read, late, on the sand. alone. she loves it. she had friends : Kie, Sarah, the others. but she likes those moments of loneliness, to find herself. and she missed those moments when she moved to new york. the big apple is an incredible city, always moving, but it was to fast for her. so when her mother told her, after a year, that they would be returning to their hometown, outer banks, Sasha was so happy. she knew she was going to miss new york life, but her heart was in obx. so that night, she spent the evening on the beach with her favorite book, Anna Karenina, just like before. JJ. JJ has always had a troubled home life. his father is an alcoholic and a drug addict. he also physically and mentally abuses JJ. and he often has frequent violent outbursts which has led to JJ's own struggles with violent behavior. John B is his oldest friend, having been friends with him since the third grade. he also friends with Kiara and Pope. he hang out with them most of the time. he's the latest in a long line of fishing, drinking, vendetta-holding salt-lifers who made their living off the water. John B describes him as the best surfer he knows. JJ is erratic and often doesn't think before he acts. he is feisty and quick-tempered but also always up for a laugh and an adventure. he is sometimes a liability but is also brave and loyal to a fault, always ready to look out for and defend his friends at any turn.

she's a Maybank, born on the Cut and bred to hate everything the Kooks stand for. He's a Cameron, with a trust fund, a bad reputation, and a temper as volatile as the storm that traps them under the same roof. Belle never planned to talk to Rafe-let alone want him.
