It's been nine months since escaping the Deepsea Metro, defeating tar-tar, and saving Inkoplois things seemed to have finally calmed down for the team. Agent 8 now free is now living his new life on the surface, working, going on missions, and his favorite thing getting to spend time with 3. 3 is enjoying spending time with 8, but after going on a research mission in the Deepsea Metro she notices 8 acting strange. The team is on the case to find him but sometime into the search Inklings sharing some of 3's similarities are getting attacked and 3's apartment gets ransacked. It's clear 8 is after 3 and if he finds her, he's not letting her go.

While Nova has forgotten about past events, a certain Inkling will escape a treacherous place and find comfort with Nova and Marina. (Not pearl tho. Srry pearl) This specific Inkling is not just any Inkling. While they do look like one, it isn't hard to notice the gills and tail of an Axolotl. Nova and Marina try their best to make the inkling comfortable but one day out in the backyard ruins it. This story takes place 2 years after The Super Nova. Splatoon is not owned by me (obviously)
