Agent 8 now free is now living his new life on the surface, working, going on missions, and his favorite thing getting to spend time with 3. 3 is enjoying spending time with 8, but after going on a research mission in the Deepsea Metro she notices 8 acting strange. She found him mumbling to himself, he's having nightmares, being more claggy to 3 than normal, and swears that she caught a flash of teal in his eye. It couldn't be that bad... till 8 goes missing. The team is on the case to find him but sometime into the search Inklings sharing some of 3's similarities are getting attacked and 3's apartment gets ransacked. It's clear 8 is after 3 and if he finds her, he's not letting her go.

You take on the role of a girl named Hazel. The world she knew has fallen apart. She's one of the last remaining humans on what we call "Earth", forced into a small underground facility with a limited supply of safe air to breathe with her father and other scientists, she freezes herself with her pet Judd in hopes of a better life upon waking up. The world she left won't be one she remembers now. **This story is essentially an alternate take on the lore of late Splatoon 1 to Splatoon 2 as well as the DLC and mostly resembles the story mode itself and not any completely made up one.** There may be *minor* spoilers in this story from the actual Splatoon + Splatoon 2 games. Please also note when I originally wrote this I wasn't aware of certain aspects of the lore of Splatoon 2 and hadn't finished the octo expansion or the main story mode when first beginning to write. I also wasn't as familiar as I am now with the personality of some characters so.. yeah.
