At eighteen, Ryuusei thought she was ready to study the human mind. A first-year psychology student, she takes a part-time job at Shiratorizawa Psychiatric Center expecting quiet observation, helpful case notes, and maybe a little hands-on learning.
Instead, she's dropped into the high-maintenance rotation - a work schedule that puts her face-to-face with the facility's most unpredictable and infamous patients. Each day, she's assigned to a different locked room: Kageyama and Hinata's nonstop chaos, Bokuto and Akaashi's emotional extremes, Kuroo and Kenma's calculated mischief, Oikawa and Iwaizumi's volatile loyalty, and more.
The patients aren't dangerous in the horror-movie sense... but they are dangerous in ways Ryuusei isn't prepared for. They're sharp, charming, manipulative, and far too perceptive - and as the weeks go by, their attention turns toward her in ways that blur the line between professional distance and personal connection.
What starts as a college student's field experience quickly becomes a mental and emotional tightrope walk. In a place where every locked door hides a different personality - and every gaze lingers a little too long - Ryuusei must decide how close is too close... and what she's willing to risk to truly understand the mind.
