16 year old Christiana comes home after school in the dead of winter to find police surrounding her house. she gets news from one of the officers that her mother had died of a heart attack and she was going to be placed in foster care. Upon hearing this news she runs away wildly, not looking where she is going. Eventually she stops running and looks around, she finds herself in the middle of a forest. Upon hearing cracking below her she looks down and sees herself standing on a frozen lake, she tries to start running but is to late when the ice breaks below her. 16 year old Jumeirah is walking home from practice.
