It has been years since Odasaku's death - Dazai has visited his grave often, forever mourning his close friend's death, wondering if he could have changed what happened that day. However, when by chance he finds a book with Odasaku's signature, his heart longs to find the owner of the pen.

18 year old Dazai comes to his senses that he doesn't have platonic feelings for Oda. He loves Oda and admires him dearly. Oda notices Dazai's suicidal tendencies are getting worse and puts his full intentions on protecting him. Dazai is not aware that Oda has similar feelings for him.
