In order to keep peace between humankind and the youkai, youkai youths are sent out to travel so that they may earn an awareness of the hardships that humans face, while humans learn that their neighbours are just people too. (OMORI SPOILERS FOR CERTAIN ROUTES) (This takes place a few years after Basil's suicide and Sunny's move to the city.) Sunny, who's now a fairly popular violinist, moves back to Faraway town to visit everyone. However, he now realizes that even though he's mostly healed and learned to live his life without so much grief, there are always harsh reminders of what happened with Mari and Basil, no matter if he's in the city or back in the very town where everything took place. He knows he'll have to understand more than the truth to fully be able to accept what happened. TW!! Implied suicide, suicidal thoughts, implied sh, nongraphic mentions of gore, normal Omori warnings, etc etc, blah blah blah, stop reading if you're uncomfortable!

Inspired by a writing prompt, I think. This was written so long ago, maybe two years or so apart from my more recent works? I wrote it with a timelimit of fifteen minutes? I could edit it, but I think I'll leave my younger self's work alone. I was so proud back then, I showed it to my parents.
